For this production I was also in charge of story boarding the script. The first attempt went mostly by what was written. Further attempts and revisions I asked for more free will to go off script given permission from the team.
Animatic
The video below is the animatic that was composited by Thea C. Pulido using all of the storyboards that I made from the short.
First Draft
First draft I was not happy with and presented to an audience no seemed to be entertained or satisfied in the story as well. That was when I asked the production team if I may have free will into changing the direction of the story through the boards my way. With their permission I created the second draft.
No dialogue is intended for the film.
Second Draft
The second draft I was much more happy with. When presented in front of our instructor and many of our peers everyone and even the members in the team where entertained to this version.
Character Designing
The boards were drawn before the team settled on a design for the dog "Alice". I was also in charge of designing the character.
The image above is my first attempts on designing the dog Alice.
After showcasing the first concepts the team newly agreed they wanted the character to look more like "Ren & Stimpy" or "Courage The Cowardly Dog".
Final Pass
After the second revision, the team then wanted something a tiny bit more realistic looking to a real dog.Above here we have the final draft of our main character, Alice the Dog.
Ending Credits
For the credit sequence each team member draw their persona in their own artistic style in themed with the short film. I chose to not draw myself but a plate of uneaten pancakes for myself cause I thought it'd be funny. The teams name was "Pancake Pirates"
